Student Affairs

Sophia Nana Mirekua Appiah
(Head of Student Affairs)

Student affairs at the Preschool level focuses on the support services and programs provided to our young learners to ensure their holistic development and well-being.

A regular day at any of our four preschool campuses starts with welcoming learners into a clean and bright environment and are guided into their respective classrooms and handed over to their teachers. The student Affairs Heads on each campus are to ensure that the following are always adhered to.

CREATING A SAFE AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
  • A welcoming classroom setup with appropriate furniture in place, and the physical space organized to promote interaction and accessibility for all children.
  • Cleanliness of surroundings and general compound.
  • Play areas are hazard-free.
MEALS
  • Breakfast is being served at 9:00 am
  • Lunch is also served at noon.
  • Learners who opt for afterschool service are being served with a meal at 4:00 pm.
  • Learners with confirmed allergic reports are served different meals.
  • Meals served are at the right hygienic temperature
FACILITATING COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL
  • Calls are placed to parents to check on absent learners
  • Meetings are scheduled to discuss student progress, goals, and concerns with their parents.
  • Newsletters: updates on upcoming events, important deadlines, classroom activities, and other vital information are shared with parents.
  • Open communication policy where parents can call or walk in at any time to discuss their wards.
THE WELL-BEING AND HEALTH OF OUR LEARNERS
  • Community health nurses visit our campuses every month to conduct a child welfare clinic that includes weighing, immunization, monitoring the student’s growth, and recording their findings in their immunization records book.
  • Regular hand washing is practiced for learners to keep infections and germs at bay.
  • Fruits help build the immune system of our learners hence parents are advised to give fruits to their wards as snack every day and compulsory on Thursdays.
  • For learners who fall sick during school hours, calls are placed to their parents to notify them for pick up.
  • At TSM, there are caregiving structures in place to ensure there are no or minimum injuries.
With the above-stated information, our goal is to:
  • Promote social-emotional development and self-awareness.
  • Encourage positive relationships and friendship.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and community.
  • Prepare students for future success in school and life.
